~French Onion Roast~

~French Onion Roast~
SO simple! And oh so tasty! This can be done in the oven or the good old crock pot!
I took the roast and rubbed olive oil over the entire roast once coated i then sprinkled the roast with onion powder and garlic powder, i heated up a nice old frying pan when it was good and hot i threw the roast in and sealed all sides of the roast! Remove from pan and my roast was done in the crock pot! I took 2 cups of chicken stock and poured it in the hot pan heating it up, then poured the stock into the crock pot, in the crock pot i had 1/3 of a cup of dryed onions, 2 tablespoons of dryed parsely, 2 tablespoons of garlic powder, 2 tablespoons of onion powder, 1 teaspoon of fresh ground black pepper and 2 tablespoons of worshire sauce. I placed the roast into the crock pot and set it to cook in 4 hours! After 3 hours i took the lid off and added some of my home made powdered gravy mix to make sure it would thicken up! You can add gravy packets or a little flour if you like thats all up to your own taste buds :) Put the lid back on and let it finish cooking It should have a nice thick sauce and the meat will just melt in your mouth! The roast is pictured below served with Mashed Rutabaga's and Creamy Balsalmic Green Beans and Asparagus.
