~Cookies in a Jar~

Ingredients
1 1/4 cup of all purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon of baking soda
1/2 teaspoon of salt
1/2 cup of firmly packed down brown sugar
1/3 cup of granulated sugar
1 1/2 cups of semi sweet chocolate chips
1/2 of chopped nuts (optional)
now time to pack it into a mason jar!
combine flour, baking soda and salt in a bowl, pour the flour mixture into your mason jar,
once in begin layering your other ingredients! Choc chips and nuts work best being one of the last things you place in your jar!
Instructions you attach to the jar!
Cream together in a large mixing bowl 2/3 of a cup of softened butter or crisco, 1 egg, 1 teaspoon of water, and 1 teaspoon of vanilla, mix until light and fluffy! Now take your cookies in a jar mix and empty it into the mixture youve just made and mix it all up really well! Drop teaspoon fulls of the cookie dough mixture onto a cookie sheet! Place into a preheated oven at 375'degrees bake for 8-10 mins or untill lightly browned!
This recipe makes about 3 dozen cookies!

~The Local Farmers Stand~

The local farmers stand is full of all sorts of locally grown goodies! In the summer we found the sweetest corn around our area! Tasty Tomatoes which we were able to pick ourselves! All sorts of peppers, onions, spuds summer squash and much much more! On my way home from work today i stopped at our lil local stand which is now "self serve" currently the stand is stocked with beautiful tasty pumkins and squash! So today i returned home with 6 butternut squash 6 sweet potato squash and 1 acorn squash! How much did i spend? $10! Why did i buy so many u ask? Because one of the great things about butternut squash is they will last over winter stored in a nice cool place! I know this from experience as i kept a few out in my garage last winter! As for the other ones i plan on cooking the acorn squash for dinner! And a couple of the sweet ones as well so keep your eye out to see what i did with them and how they turned out!

Kitchen Projects this summer!

So here it is one of the many things i have been up to this summer!

So for Kevin's bday we headed to ikea! I bet your wondering how i get 2 grown men to agree to heading to ikea and spending HOURS there eh? Theres a wonderful restuarant right by the ikea we go to called BD's Mongolian Grill! Thats how i get a few trips to my fav home ware store a year! I do literally spend HOURS there and they r with me as well as Loche :) walking around i cant say they enjoy it as much as i do BUT they need to walk off all the food theyd eatten b4 we arrive there :P
So i have a spice rack that was exactly what i wanted and my plan was to buy another one! and heres the BUT....they decided to change it...PHOOEY! So i was all sorts of mad! While wondering around i came across this shelf like thingy and ideas started zooming around my head! It as a bargin only $25 and the ideas were ran threw the guys, they gave the ok (not that it would have mattered if theyd said no anyway but u know u gotta let em think they have a say in things *chuckle*)

So onto what should have taken like an hour MAX....it took a WEEK yea u read that right i said a frigging W E E K! So the rack wouldnt have worked with the hole cut out in the wall from the previous owners so it had to me drywalled up and primed and painted..So once that started we realised the IDIOTS that lived here b4 us had cut threw 2 support beams to open up the wall so they could shove their microwave into the wall....so that had to be fixed oh and we also found a live wire back under the board they had the microwave sitting on...SPECIAL! So needles to say my kitchen was a MESS the entire back pantry was in my kitchen i dont kow how such a small project turned into such a mess but yes after a week i got what i had pictured in my mind!

Just a couple of goodies i got!

Heres the shelf/rack, you can see the hole in the wall that caused the problem!

This is how my wall looked prior to the new shelf being put up :) Not to bad!

I used the hole in the wall to hold jars of my dried goods!

And here is the finishing results!

I needed more spice jars for the sheer fact that i dry alot of my herbs in the garden, last i counted i am at 40 little spice jars!

I love the new rack its perfect for all my needs!

This is what i use to keep my spuds and onions in but with the new rack it had to go!

So the baskets stil on the floor!

Hmmm Savers?

So thursday i ventured to a store called SAVERS its like good will i guess? It was my first visit and i wanna say it was a great experience? But it wasnt that great BUT i did get some good bargins! So as you all know we got a new table its marble... I know more work for myself BUT its so PRETTY! :) Ive decided we need place mats and coasters so i thought id have a look and see what i could find right? Whether or not it was a real place mat or not i figured if i found a nice curtain or a nice table cloth i could cut it up and make me some unique placemats! But the curtains they had were awful and the table cloths were COVERED in stains..and i had no plans in dyin the material and then cuttin them up! So i moved on and found me a good deal on green apple coloured cloth napkins! Ive been wanting to switch to cloth but just have been to lazy... but they had 9 of these nice napkins and i couldnt pass them up! Not at 60 cents a piece! And then i found a nice well i guess it was a place mat of some sorts but there was only one of then and i was looking for something to place in the middle of the table to place the bread, salt n pepper and what not in the centre of the table with out scratchin up the marble! It was only 90 cents!

So while i was out today i popped into walmart to see what was in their clearance section and i came across this really cute baseket! It was on clearance because one small piece on the bottom was snapped a lil and heck ive been looking for a bread basket! And this would do a perfect job of that! Its the same colour as our chairs and the green napkins look great with the basket!

So i hope uve all had a great wk :) And sorry i havent blogged every single day :) I hate not having my camera! Anyway im sitting here waiting for a loaf of bread to bake and all the boys are off up stairs im down stairs listening to music and enjoying a cup of peppermint tea MMM I hope everyone has a good wkend!

My Eventful Wkend!

So on saturday i was up at the crack of dawn! Yup it may have been earlier then dawn lol... I was up at 5am 30 mins on the tredmill weigh in on the wiifit shower threw the dinner dishes from the niht b4 in the dish washer and got my son up and dressed and we headed out the door at 6:15am! We were headed to Angies! She had to drop her hubby off at work and then we were headed her mums house as we were all goin to a huge in door garage sale at clay high school! Well i was not as lucky as Angie with finds but i did get Loche some Brain quest booklests that Angie found! But i did find a cute lil recycling book that i have been going threw with my son!

It was a lovely day thats for sure! BUT boy was i tired when i got home! I put away my stuff worked out on the wii an then i layed down...which i probably shouldnt of... seeing i had planned on going to Angies to start sowing seeds! I ended up laying down for what i planned an hr... and next thing i know i was woken up by my hubby whom got home from work at 8ish! Oh dear i felt terrible.. So i am yet to sow seeds... i really have to get on that! So seeing i slept the evening away.. i didnt have any plans for dinner! We ended up goin out for pizza! We had a lovely evening chatting and eattin pizza as a family! Sunday morning came an hour earlier ofcourse! :) I love daylight savings! But i got up and started cooking my boys breakfast! I made pepper bacon lil smokies wrapped in cresent pastry! Chive potatoes! Turkey sausage i made and seasoned my self and scrambled eggs with shredded tasty cheese over the top! What a spread! I wish i had of taken pics it looked delish sittin on the table! But anyway sunday was very productive we had to go to Kohls to pick up a few things, then we ended up at sams club where i got new pots and pans! YAY!

My new pots got washed and dryed yesterday! Im so excited to get to use em 2day! But while we were at sams we picked up these awesome stacking shelves!

These puppys are awesome! You get 2 in a box and they are fab! I LOVE THEM! They took my pantry from messy to fab organised! I wish i had a before pick! But my camera was dead... But i do however have a after pic to share with yu all!

So for 10$ a box which has 2 shelves/bins in them they do an awesome job! I plan on buying more for Loches room and some for my garage!

So while i was at sams i baught some food grade containers for my Bread flour and for my bread dough! Pics of my flour!

When Things Go Right!

So im not goin to go on and on about my whole experience i had with the online bag company but i will share the fact that they finally did something right! My first bag i ordered threw them.... lets just say it looked like someone used it then sent it bag from the ware n tare of the handles! It took me wks to finally find something i liked so i could use my $25 giftcard i had threw them..... After the first bag was sent back and many emails back and forth with their customer service department they finally offered me a sweet deal! I was to choose the bag i liked i could have my $25 gifcard back plus 25% off plus i could take advantage of any sales they were having on any of the laptop bags as well as free 2 day air shipping! So i found this lovely bag

Its an over sized bag seein my boys got me a pain in the butt sized laptop... that doesnt fit in any normal bags..... Anyway so it was on sale for like 90$ but full price it was 179.95 i got $25 off it plus the 25% off the sale price and i got a lovely suprise when i was goin threw check out that i had been given a gift code which after processing baught my bag to $49! What a bargin! Even if they caused me stress! It worked out awesome!

But my bag comes in a "case" to keep the bag safe when im not using it i guess? weird....
